The Airbus A330 is a wide-body passenger aircraft manufactured by Airbus, designed for medium- and long-range flights, equipped with two turbofan engines. The A330 made its first flight on November 2, 1992 in the A330-300 version.
The Airbus A330 uses the so-called interchangeability principle in various parts of the aircraft. This means that the systems of different types of aircraft are identical, thus saving money.
The A330 is a close relative of the Airbus A340. The bearing surfaces of the four-engine A340, which was designed for long- and ultra-long-range flights, are not reinforced in the area of the external engines. Other characteristics, with the exception of minor details, are identical for both models.
