An airplane with an extraordinary history—now part of your collection. This keychain is made from genuine fuselage skin from the Yak-42 EP-QFB, known as Foxtrot Bravo. This Fuselage Creations keychain is made from original fuselage skin of the Yak-42 with registration EP-QFB. Behind this piece of metal lies the story of an aircraft that changed registrations and countries several times, waited years for its first operator, and eventually remained in Ukraine for a long time.

The Yak-42 is a three-engine passenger aircraft designed for short- and medium-haul routes. The aircraft from which these keychains were made was built in 1999, toward the end of serial production of this model. It made its first flight under the registration RA-42443. However, the new aircraft did not immediately find a buyer: changes in the aviation market following the collapse of the Soviet Union and the proliferation of Western airliners significantly reduced demand.

In 2003, the aircraft was transferred to the Czech Republic as part of the repayment of Russian government debt. In the following years, it held the registrations 9L-LDS in Sierra Leone and ER-YCF in Moldova, and later ended up in Dubai, where it was offered for sale as a virtually unused airliner for $12.1 million.

In 2006, the aircraft was purchased by the Iranian carrier Fars Qeshm Air. Under the registration EP-QFB, it finally began passenger service, becoming one of four Yak-42s in the company’s fleet. The name “Foxtrot Bravo” comes from the last two letters of its registration, as read using the International Phonetic Alphabet.

In 2012, the EP-QFB arrived in Zaporizhzhia for engine maintenance. During its stay in Ukraine, the airline lost its air operator’s certificate, after which protracted disputes over ownership began. In September 2014, the aircraft was detained by Ukrainian border authorities. It remained grounded for more than ten years.
In March 2025, the Yak-42 was put up for public auction as an aircraft in need of major repairs. The Fuselage Creations team inspected it in person: despite its long period of inactivity, it appeared to be almost completely intact. However, instead of being restored, it was destined to be dismantled for parts and scrapped.

Before dismantling, Fuselage Creations obtained the original skin directly from this aircraft. It is from this skin that the EP-QFB collectible keychains were made. This is a genuine piece of the aircraft, whose history combines international agreements, passenger flights, and a long-term stay in Zaporizhzhia.
