The Airbus A380 is a very large wide-body airliner designed and manufactured by Airbus until 2021. It is the world's largest passenger airliner and the only full-size double-deck jet aircraft.
On December 19, 2000, Airbus launched the A380 program worth €9.5 billion ($10.7 billion). The first prototype was unveiled in Toulouse on January 18, 2005, and the first flight took place on April 27, 2005.
Due to wiring difficulties, initial production was delayed by two years and development costs almost doubled. The aircraft was first delivered to Singapore Airlines on October 15, 2007, and entered service on October 25. Production of the aircraft will be completed in 2021.
The full-size double-deck aircraft has a seating capacity of 525 passengers, and its maximum certified capacity is 853 passengers. The flight range is 14,800 km / 9,200 miles.
