Description

Tu-154. Olga Bykova

This watercolor painting depicting a Tu-154 passenger aircraft was created in the artist’s characteristic style, combining precise observation with the lively fluidity of watercolor brushstrokes. The composition conveys not only the shape of the aircraft but also a sense of space, air, and the calm presence of this massive machine on the museum grounds.

The Tu-154 is one of the most famous passenger aircraft of its generation, a machine with a recognizable silhouette and distinctive three engines in the tail section of the fuselage. In the watercolor, special attention is paid to the aircraft’s proportions, its structural details, and the light-and-shadow transitions that form a cohesive image.

The work was created during an open-air painting session at the State Aviation Museum in Zhuliany (Kyiv). Transparent layers of watercolor are applied one on top of the other, creating soft color transitions, depth, and a sense of lightness in the image. Thanks to this, the aircraft looks natural within the space of the sheet, and the composition retains the feeling of light and air of an open space. The watercolor is framed in a white Italian frame with a light patina effect and a mat with a distinct bevel. This framing was chosen deliberately: it emphasizes the lightness of the watercolor and allows the work to exist naturally on the wall without being tied to a specific interior.

You can purchase the Tu-154 painting on our website or at our store located at 50b Khreshchatyk Street, Kyiv. We also offer delivery throughout Ukraine and worldwide.
